In short
You can delete your Work Hour Book account and all the data stored with it on our servers at any time, for free, from the app, from the web app, or by emailing us. It is permanent and cannot be undone.
Delete from the Android, iPhone or iPad app
- Open Work Hour Book and go to the Settings tab.
- Under Account, tap your email address.
- Tap Delete cloud account.
- Read what will be deleted. If you also want to remove the jobs and shifts saved on that device, tick Also delete everything on this phone. (Premium users can tap Export my hours first to keep a copy.)
- Tap Delete account (or Delete everything) to confirm.
Your account is deleted straight away. You will be signed out on all your devices.
Delete from the web app
- Go to app.workhourbook.com and sign in.
- Open Settings and click your email address under Account.
- Click Delete cloud account, then Delete account to confirm.
Can't sign in? Ask us by email
Send an email to support@workhourbook.com from the email address you use to sign in, with the subject "Delete my account". So that nobody can delete someone else's account, we may ask you to confirm the request from that address. We will delete the account and confirm within 30 days, usually much sooner.
What is deleted and what is kept
Deleted permanently
- Your account: email address, sign-in details and account ID
- Every job, client, rate, shift, break, note, tip, mileage entry, expense, allowance, deduction, paid mark and setting stored on our servers
- Any shift that was running
- Push-notification registrations for your devices
Kept
- Data on your own devices, unless you tick "Also delete everything on this phone". You can also remove it by deleting the app.
- Backups: copies in our encrypted backups are overwritten within about 30 days.
- Purchase records needed for tax, accounting and fraud prevention, kept by us and our subscription provider for up to 7 years, and by Apple or Google under their own policies.
- Information we must keep by law, and aggregated statistics that do not identify you.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription
Premium is billed by Apple or Google. To stop being charged, cancel it in your store account:
- iPhone and iPad: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Work Hour Book › Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play Store › your profile picture › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions › Work Hour Book › Cancel.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
Delete some data without deleting your account
- A shift: open its day in the Timesheet and delete the shift.
- A job or client and all its shifts: on the Home screen, open the job's menu and choose delete.
- Everything on one device: in Settings, tap your email and sign out with the option to empty this device, or delete the app.
Deletions on one device are synced to your other devices and removed from our servers.
